Monthly Archives: September 2011

Yaaaay! My short story Everyone Gets The Nonsense Neck has been accepted for publication by Dr Hurley’s Snake-Oil Cure. They are lovely, lovely people. It is a harrowing tale of intrigue and peer pressure and inappropriate neckwear. It will be live tomorrow at 5pm. Check it out for laffs to the max!

Yay! My short story Prayers Are Knives (who am I but the Quarter Child?) has been chosen for publication by The Whistling Fire. It is a wacky story about living up a tree. Look out for it in the coming weeks!

Hurrah, my short story We Left Him With The Dragging Man has been picked up by the lovely folks over at Jersey Devil Press. It will be appearing in the January 2012 issue. Yay! Look out for it– it’s probably one of the better stories I’ve written in quite some time!

Yes indeedy, mah friends. My short story The Thread has appeared in Issue 3 of Anomalous Press. And what’s this? An audio recording of the story is included? You actually get to *hear* me mangle the word ‘cars’ with my ridiculous accent? It’s like all your birthdays have come at once, and they’re all disappointing.

Crumbs, crumbs, crumbs. The 21st of the month has come and gone and my Submission Stats for the month of September are late! Cheee! But here there are now, better late than never! Another quiet month for actually writing stories, and a bit of a creative slump too. May need to take a week or two off. But once again, all sorts have been happening on the acceptances front and at least where they are concerned it’s been a busy month.

Let’s have a look how things stand on the 25th September, shall we?

Well, je suis une Delighted with this one! The nifty-fab Atticus Review have snagged themselves on the filthy edges of my short story The Patron Saint of Cloven Meat, which is a light-hearted romp into the world of organised religion.

More like dis-organised!

High Five!

In the September 2011 issue of Awosting Alchemy. My short story I SNAP When I Go Right Around is now available for perusement. Why not read the first paragraph and then impatiently scroll through the rest of the story making a soft sighing noise? I won’t mind, I know you are busy.

Yippee, yippee, yippee! The beautiful people at The Adroit Journal have accepted my short story The Seventeen Doors. Not sure when it will be out. Soon, perhaps? And what does that wonky-eyed dog have to do with it? You’ll just have to read to find out! Now you’re interested!

In an upcoming issue of Awosting Alchemy. They have chosen my creepy little piece I SNAP When We Go Right Around. It is a hoot. Have a look for it when it comes out.

Well this is a nugget of fruity good news! My short story On Tuesdays We Wear Sexy Hats (and tell ourselves it’s fine to bleed) has been chosen for inclusion in the anthology Speech Bubble: The Best of Issues One, Two and Three from the good folks at Speech Bubble. It will be released in October through Smashwords and cost you a delightfully affordable 99 Americacents.

What the–

Who’s that knocking on my door?!

No, it’s Hubris.

With his shitty stick.
